چکیده

Good soccer players must keep their eyes on their opponents in order to make the right plays and moves. The same holds for soccer robots, too. In this paper, we apply probabilistic multiple object tracking to the continual estimation of the positions of opponent players in autonomous robot soccer. We extend MHT [3], an existing tracking algorithm, to handle multiple mobile sensors with uncertain positions, discuss the specification of probabilistic models needed by the algorithm, and describe the required vision-interpretation algorithms. The tracking algorithm enables robots to estimate the positions and motions of fast moving robots both accurately and robustly. We have applied the multiple object tracking algorithm throughout the RoboCup 2001 world championship. Empirical results show the applicability of multiple hypotheses tracking to vision-based opponent tracking and demonstrates the advantages for crowded environments.

Effective Mechatronic Models and Methods for Implementation an Autonomous Soccer Robot

Omni directional mobile robots have been popularly employed in several applications especially in soccer player robots considered in Robocup competitions. However, Omni directional navigation system, Omni-vision system and solenoid kicking mechanism in such mobile robots have not ever been combined. This situation brings the idea of a robot with no head direction into existence, a comprehensi...

Adaptive Color Mapping for NAO Robot Using Neural Network

While playing soccer, the main task of the robot vision system is identifying and tracking objects such as ball, goals, teammate robots and opponent robots. The basis of many object identification methods, particularly those in soccer robots and RoboCup environment, is using algorithms based on pixel color properties. One of the major problems of these robots in RoboCup environment is changes i...

The AGILO Robot Soccer Team-Experience-Based Learning and Probabilistic Reasoning in Autonomous Robot Control

This article describes the computational model underlying the AGILO autonomous robot soccer team, its implementation, and our experiences with it. According to our model the control system of an autonomous soccer robot consists of a probabilistic game state estimator and a situated action selection module. The game state estimator computes the robot’s belief state with respect to the current ga...

Robot Motion Vision Pait I: Theory

A direct method called fixation is introduced for solving the general motion vision problem, arbitrary motion relative to an arbitrary environment. This method results in a linear constraint equation which explicitly expresses the rotational velocity in terms of the translational velocity. The combination of this constraint equation with the Brightness-Change Constraint Equation solves the gene...

Tactic-Based Motion Modelling and Multi-Sensor Tracking

Tracking in essence consists of using sensory information combined with a motion model to estimate the position of a moving object. Tracking efficiency completely depends on the accuracy of the motion model and of the sensory information. For a vision sensor like a camera, the estimation is translated into a command to guide the camera where to look. In this paper, we contribute a method to ach...
